The research of the Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research has the capability to infiltrate the academic community and create a metamorphosis in the way Jesus is viewed and taught at the University level. For example, following a 20 minute presentation last fall on "Hebraisms in the New Testament" which contained powerful evidence on the Hebraicness of the Greek texts of the Synoptic Gospels, a Jerusalem School Associate, Marc Turnage, was pulled aside by an attending professor, "If you are correct in the material of your presentation, this will transform New Testament Studies." Marc's answer, "Yes."

Over the past forty years, the Jerusalem School has been reduced to the mystic group in Israel, as one author stated. This is largely due to the fact that the JS has never published a collective work. Each of the scholars are known within their own field, but not widely known is that these highly respected scholars meet throughout the year to bring their knowledge and experience to the table as they study the words of Jesus in their historic and linguistic setting.

Many false statements and methodologies have been attributed to the Jerusalem School over the years. Our first step was to strategically hammer out our methodological assumptions, called "The Two Pillars," which is the first step towards allowing other scholars tangible information on which the dialogue can begin.

Surprisingly enough, support of the Two Pillars has been overwhelmingly positive and has provided springboard into the discussion pool.

Over the next few years, the largest wall prohibiting the Jerusalem School from impacting the scholarly community is financial. In hopes of elevating our current level of support, we have created Patron Members. Patron membership is a way for those who believe in our work to help support our endeavors.

Do I have to have a PayPal account?

NO! You are not required to have a PayPal account. You can pay online with your credit card or check. You will be prompted if you would like to create one, but you may decline with no implications.

What credit cards are accepted?

American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Why does JSSR use PayPal.com for their credit card transactions?

Having a website that can accept credit cards over the Internet is very expensive. The cost of a secure site, a credit card merchant account and a payment gateway all add up quickly. In order to save money, we have chosen to utilize PayPal's convenient payment method which only charges us $3.40 on our $100 transaction, a considerable savings.

Can I mail my payment?
Send your name, address & email address along with a check or money order for $100 to the following address:

                    Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research
                    U.S. Offices
                    P.O. Box 190
                    Poplar Bluff, MO 63902

  • Jerusalem School Scholars attendance of academic conferences like the Society of Biblical Literature

  • Finalization of Jerusalem Studies in the Synoptic Gospels Volume 1.

  • Research & Editing of Jerusalem Studies in the Synoptic Gospels Volume 2

  • Academic Speaking tours

  • Annually hosted breakfast & reception at Society of Biblical Literature Congress

What's in it for me?
We've discussed various incentives for our Patrons, but most of our Patrons are more interested in helping out than receiving something in return. That being said, our Patrons will receive a report (at least quarterly) with updates of our organization's successes and set-backs.  As the program develops the benefits of being a Patron will grow as well. Items we've discussed as future enhancements to our Patron program include:

  • occasional conference calls with a JS scholar where you can ask questions and hear real-time feedback

  • availability of autographed copies of JS publications

  • advanced copies of articles being published

Can I advertise for Patron Memberships on my website?
    YES!
We are grateful for any and all people who will advertise for us on your web site.

To help us gain more Patron members, please put the following code on your site.
